This article will cover how to seamlessly attach files to forms and cover some troubleshooting.
This article covers:
Adding a File Attachment to a Form
1. Navigate to Settings >> All Settings >> Organisation Documents
For information on how to upload / manage Organisation Documents, see this article.
2. Find the file you want to attach to a form. Right click on the name of the file, then Copy Link.
3. Navigate to your form design. The form field types that can support a URL are either the URL or HTML Content.
4. Make sure to save any changes.
Public vs Private Files
When an employee receives this form and then clicks on the link, one of two things will happen depending on how the file is configured in Organisation Documents.
If the file is set to Public, then when the employee clicks the link, it will download onto their local drive straight away.
If the file is set to Private, then it will take the employee to the your organisation’s tenant.
If the employee is already logged in to the tenant, then it will download normally. If not, it will show the following error.
In order to change the file from Public to Private or vice versa, this can be done in the Organisation Documents. Click on the three dots to the right of the file, then Make Private / Public.
